Cathy Gendron earned a BFA and had a serious need to draw. A short stint as art director for the Detroit Free Press taught her that she really didn’t enjoy the management side of the business. She quit and has been making pictures ever since. In 2015, she designed and painted a 4,000-square-foot mural in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She is the illustrator of The Nutcracker Comes to America and Trees Make Perfect Pets.
