Fraud Warning
Potential Publishing Scam and Fraud:
We’ve been made aware that authors and illustrators are being targeted with publisher scams using the name of Charlesbridge Publishing. These scams may include the fraudulent use of the Charlesbridge Publishing name, imprint names, logos, and addresses; and third parties might impersonate employees via email, phone, or social media. Unexpected communications by phone, email, or social media with promises of publication or options to publish especially with unexpectedly large advances and/or royalties, requests for manuscripts, money, and personal information may be fraudulent.
Some pointers:
— We do not solicit author manuscripts. Our Submission Guidelines are available here.
— We do not ask for payment to review a manuscript or to enter into a publishing agreement with an author.
— Inspect the sender’s email address in any message that claims to be from Charlesbridge Publishing. Scammers tend to use misspellings or other variations of domain names and email addresses in their solicitations.
— If the email or phone call appears to be from a Charlesbridge Publishing employee, even if that person exists and works for the company, do not assume it is legitimate.
If you receive communication from Charlesbridge Publishing that looks suspicious, please email Customer Service here or call us at (800) 225-3214 to confirm whether the offer is legitimate.
