Charles Waters photoCharles Waters is an author, children's poet, actor and educator. His books (co-written with Irene Latham) include the award winning Can I Touch Your Hair? Poems of Race, Mistakes and Friendship; Dictionary for a Better World: Poems, Quotes and Anecdotes from A–Z; African Town; and Be a Bridge. His works have appeared in various anthologies and magazines including National Geographic. He was born in the Philadelphia area making him a dedicated Philly sports fan and believes poetry for young people to one of the world's greatest inventions alongside the creation of fire, the wheel and various breakfast foods.
